I hope Weber goes to philly.... Wanns see how good Barry Trotz really is
Doan to Philly would be sick too. But something would have to give.

Richard Cloutier: Spillage! July 23 Edition - Maxbone
Every time you bring the amnesty (which I don't think will happen), I have to say: Horcoff has a terrible contract, but he's a good 3rd line centre. I think the Oilers would miss him a lot more than one would think if he got dumped. Either way, as you say Tambs hasn't made a mess of the contracts, so Horcoff's clunker actually doesn't hurt us that bad. Further, as the cap goes up every year and Horcoff's salary goes down, his contract is starting to become very moveable (not for a lot mind you).
So yeah, I hope Horcoff sticks around. |

How did the Penguins load up? They lost Staal and Michalek, got Sutter and Vokoun and everyone else is a prospect. Dumoulin, Roupp, Pouliot and Laata are still a few years away. The closest is Dumoulin but he is behind Lovejoy, Engelland, Despres and Strait in the battle for the 4-6 spots.
Really all that we Penguin fans having going for us is a healthy offseason for Crosby, Malkin, Fleury, Letang, and Orpik. Instead of limping into the season with band-aids and headaches they will be able to go in healthy and ready. |

Agreed. And besides, remember who was often taking face-offs on our #2 ranked PP On that note, I really hope the Nuge is practicing his faceoffs with Belanger this whole summer. |

And good luck with that I'm sure you guys will still be a top team despite Philly and New York's possible acquisitions!

Simmonds just scored 28 goals last year, and makes under $2M. If cap space needs to be cleared, he's not the one to go. |

If Philly adds Weber and Doan. I see the Flyers being a dominating regular season team.
But the lack of consistent goaltending will likely hurt playoff runs. |

Adding dynamic players can be a positive for struggling goaltenders in terms of confidence.

Even if the new CBA has an amnesty clause and we use it on Horcoff...then what? He's a couple million dollars overpaid but he's still our best 2 way center and one of the best 3rd line centers in the league. |

No way they deal Simmonds.
Almost 30 goals last year for a 2 million cap hit. He's a fan favorite and his persona screams broadstreet.
If they need to lose cap Id probably say Briere would be at the top of the list. |

I've heard Briere's name thrown out there a few times if Philly needs to shed some cap space... I dont get it... Briere is a (frank)ing playoff stud... 109 points in 108 games... 50 goals... including 12 goals with 30 points in 23 games during their run to the SCF a few years back.
I'd get rid of Timonen... |

I know, I'm not complaining at all about the Penguins roster. Although a top 6 RW to join Crosby would be nice, but I just don't see how the Pens "loaded up". |
